where are we again?
It's not everyday you run into a collection of skulls, but that's Meteora for you! Greece sure was an adventure!! Maybe I just need to look harder for these sorts of fun filled hole in the wall surprises.
my own garden
Sometimes, when school and life seems to be flying by, I like to remember those 4 wonderful months where I got to be away from the normal everyday routines. it may not look perfect here but when spring came the garden was beautiful and there were flowers everywhere, and my land lady always poking her head through my window (i was on the first floor), and 3 days a week, there were dance classes held on the other side of the garden and they always opened the windows and I could hear the music and watch the dancers! It was my own bit of heaven. Once outside the gates, you were back in Aix en Provence, and in the bustle of the downtown center. Oh, I can't wait to go back, and next time I have to take someone so they can experience it with me!!!

great day!
So today I heard from one of my best friends- Christy Crampton, who called to let me know she got engaged! And I couldn't be happier for her and Cory. They are getting married April 14th, 2007. Congratulations!
Also, I got to talk with Amelia today and I could hear Bekir trying to talk. He kept saying his letters and "up" or "down"! I think they really had a great time seeing her parents and sister in Bosnia and Croatia.
Very soon I should be finding out my results from the Foreign Service Written Exam! We shall see how it went:)

American presidency
polsc. 605- is now done. I took the exam and we will see, but at least I know I wrote what I consider 7 excellent pages on the issues of how the founders wanted the President elected and how the presidency has changed since the time of George Washington. No more ideas about amendments, informal powers or literal/active presidents need stay in my head!

The Library
Alright- so we don't exactly sell books here which would be great, but we do help people enjoy themselves! And I can only think of one job I enjoyed as much- which of course(bien sur) was at Whitmoor Country Club! But I am learning a lot about liquers, wines, beer, and how bizarre and fun many of my co-workers are!! The Library sure has made this summer much improved:)

good looking kids, aye?!
Jared and I across from Catherine! After this photo a security man came over and informed us that we weren't allowed to have cameras in the facility- and might I had he was rather grouchy. One should at least try to enjoy their career! Oh well- we just walked around and watched Brazil play Australia in the Soccer World Cup!
Good news- Saturday- USA tied Italy. So if we do really well against Ghana, we have a chance of continuing on to the next round! We'll see:)

soccer field
I hope everyone realizes the importance of June 9th. The beginning of the 2006 Soccer World Cup in Germany. The first game was Germany vs. Costa Rica. Germany scored in the 5th minute!
In four years the cup will be in South Africa, and I plan on going to it!!!

Skopelos
so I was searching for photos online of Skopelos Island, in north-eastern greece, and i came upon this photo. I think the hike up that hill would be worth the view. Although, the atmosphere would be intense on a stormy evening.

photos at Alpha Xi
After graduation we went to Alpha Xi for photos because it wouldn't be so crowded, and the lawn looks so nice.
jared's graduation
At 7:30 am on Saturday, May 13th, Jared was getting into his dress robes to go graduate at Bramlege Autotorium. We walked for geography in the college of Arts and Sciences. Thank goodnes, because Education majors walk later in the day and there are so many of them.
tom cruise?
a beuatiful day in may, Alisha and I decided to go for a walk through the cemetary on Sunset and we found this tombstone: thomas Cruise- US Navy!! The cemetary is huge and really old- from 1870s or so.

Tuttle Creek Lake
Thursday turned out to be such a beautiful afternoon that Alisha(my roomie) and I went for a drive to the Lake and took some photos. Listened to my Greek CD and we pretended to sing along even though we didn't know what they were singing!
Sunset Revival
Alyssa and I after catching our breath from dancing at sunset revival. They had Pomeroy playing, just as we arrived! Everyone was jumping up and down and I thought I was going to be trumpled upon;) Thank heavens- I'm still here.
Cake and Ice Cream
This is at Amanda and Lindsey's appartment for Cake(Keg) and Ice Cream before the date party!! And yes, we did have a cake there also...this is me with Jessica, and Kenny. We are kind of the history nerds at the party:)

Bananas
Alright- so I was in the grocery store the other day and buying bananas and I had a flash back(suprise!) to studying in France. At the store here you take your bananas to the cashier who weights them and then you pay according to the lb. Well, in France, or at least where I shopped(Monprix or Casino or Spar), we had to weigh our own products and then the sticker would print out and we put it on ourselves. Clearly, the reason I mention this is: I would always forget, and I would have to say in my terrible french that I forgot and they would send me back to do this and I would hold up the line!! At least I can say that shopping was an adventure!!

Sails at Sunrise
So, whenever warmer weather comes my way it makes me want to go to the beach and go sailing. Someday I would like to be able to own my own ship- nothing to large, just a nice little yacht, but all wooded with large sails, like in the film "Captain Ron"!!
Just a thought...

Easter
This past weekend I got to go spend time with my grandpa! It was so relaxing, that is except for the moment we realized we bought cajun turkey breast. Boy, grandma was sure looking down and laughing at us!!! Sherri, Gpa, and I watched Fiddler on the Roof, bought lottery tickets, and looked through old photos. Sunday morning after Easter mass at St. Joe's we went to Dillion's and got doughnuts. Had a great lunch on the farm with Susie, Mickey, Brad, Mandy, Emily, Molly, and Michael!! Then spent the afternoon making sure my car was up to date. Mandy- if you read this- go ahead and send me pics!! Thanks for a wonderful weekend!!

Great Wall of China
Tonight I drove out to I-70 to meet mom, Gi, Diane, Jane and Stephen as they were passing to go to Hays. It was dark already and along the highway I saw the fields being burned, so the soil would get replenished for this years harvest...Anyways- the line of fire in the dark made me think of what the Great Wall of China would look like if the enemy were attacking and they had to light the fire at each fortress along its path!!!

wine keg's
Can't believe that it's been a whole year since we had our wine keg party in France at Jessica and Elena's appartment in the Cloe. Time has really flown. That was the first night Elena drank- and she was crawling across the floor for her 7th glass! Andy made some superb pasta dish which we devowered once he left the room...and Leslie was dancing to Daniel Powter! No need to share our pictures of that evening with others:)

Zeik
Kevin was home when Catherine and I got back to Jared's so we watched in amazement/fear as he took Zeik out of her cage and gave her some mixed salad, with strawberry yogurt...interesting combination. Then we enjoyed our afternoon by watching the Royal Tennenbaums!!
Later in the day, as I was showering to go back out, the fire alarms went off- not cool!!!
