Saying goodbye

My good friend Kim just called me from D.C. as she is about to leave in a few hours to go to Kazakhstan. She has joined the Peac Corps, and I won't see her again for over 2 years...but I am excited for her, and she is doing something that both of us have wanted to do for a long time. Maybe I'll do it later in life. Good luck Kim. I'll miss you.

My trip to St. Louis Art Museum

The art museum is located in Forest Park and is free unless you want to see an exhibit. I chose to go through the exhibit: Symbols of Power~Napoleon. It was rather exciting and there was a lady giving a free tour and an audio so I could listen. But after that I went through the rest of the free galleries- this might have been the best part! I started with Pre-Columbian Art, went into Egyptian Rooms where they had two mummies that you could see the bodies! Then I went through the African pieces, up to my favorite area- Impressionism. I saw a Van Gogh piece- called Stairway of Auvers( which is what is shown) and then there were a few Picassos and Degas....and many others. My favorite was a painting by Modigliani. I had read a book about him and he is Italian and I didn't think I would run into one of his pieces here!! All in all, it was a great morning at the museum, a little cold inside, but it did reach 101 degrees today. So that is better than being out in that heat:)

New Job...August 2007

Hello my avid readers...I have not posted in awhile but I was waiting for a good pic to include. Guess that will have to wait for a bit. Anywho, I recently began working at a Residence Inn not far from home and I work as a Front Desk Associate. It is going well so far, alot to take in but that is good. I work the 3-11pm shift, which I thought at first would be terrible, but I realize it is better than expected. I have all day to get things done and enjoy myself and when I go to and from work, there is no rush hour traffic!! Also, I check guests in and since they usually stay around 4 or more nights, I get to know them better. Morning shift only checks out guests. And, 11 o'clock is still early enough that I can go out (except I only know 3 people that I still talk to in St. Louis) so I don't make it out too often. Now, I am saving up for a newer car and an apartment. When I get my uniform in a few weeks, I'll have mom take a picture so I can show everyone how cool I will look!! Take care tout le monde:)
